NEWSLETTER TERM 3 2016
Kia Ora Talofa Welcome
Term Three has started out very calmly and with great purpose I am pleased to say.
Our schoolwide Curriculum focus continues to be around the Teaching of Mathematics where we are looking for better understanding of the thinking and processes involved in solving mathematical problems . I hope you are able to have some worthwhile learning conversations with your children around what they are learning in this area at school.
We are also excited to have our Kapa Haka team perform at the Cultural Festival on September 1st. I know the children are excited about this and have been working hard to perfect their items.
Those of you who were able to attend the Learning Expo we held at the end of Term 2 will have seen the plans for our school redevelopment. This process is for us long overdue and will allow us the opportunity to breathe new life into the entire schools building plan. As I have stated for years the hall is not satisfactory for our school so I am extremely happy to see a new hall included in this plan. As soon as the plan has been signed off we will post the design around the school and add links to our website so that you can take a closer look at it. The new buildings and additions will support the learning programmes we have here as well as providing a fantastic environment for the myriad of activities that happen around the school.
Other news alongside this great future focussed news is that Miss Philips and Mrs Head have both won new teaching positions and will be leaving us at the end of Term Three. This is an exciting opportunity for both of these teachers and we wish them well in their new challenge. We have so appreciated their work during their time here and will miss their involvement and contribution to the children and life of our Bromley Community.
