Cultural Responsiveness

At Bromley School we value the diversity of our students and families and through our Philosophy and learning programmes, endeavour to connect to our own cultural perspectives.

Our Kapahaka group runs each week and includes both junior and senior children throughout the year. Opportunities to perform at local and city-wide events are supported.
In our classrooms we explicitly incorporate aspects of Te Reo and Te Ao Maori into our day to day learning.

For children who have another language as their first language (ESOL) we support within the classroom with a teacher aide to support the students understanding and allow them to access the programme more fully.
Our Samoan students also have a Samoan language lesson each week to strengthen their understanding and use of the language at home and school.
